Definition

The tax revenue allocated to the European Union to finance its expenditure, which must not exceed the EU GNI ceiling. Own resources comprise agricultural duties, customs duties, a VAT resource, sugar and isoglucose levies, GNI contributions and ‘other revenue’ e.g. tax and deductions from EU staff remuneration.
