History

The European Commission on Human Rights was a special tribunal that operated between 1953 and 1998 and determined the admissibility of a complaint to the European Court of Human Rights. In 1998, protocol 11 to the European Convention on Human Rights abolished the commission and enlarged the European Court of Human Rights.
